The first cafe that I ever set foot upon in Mumbai when I first arrived in February 2012 was Kala Ghoda Cafe. Set in the cool artsy area of Kala Ghoda, I was immediately charmed by its rustic white-washed exposed brick walls and the cozy space that is often filled with good conversations, people working on their Macs or scribbling into their notebooks. Apart from great coffee, yummy sandwiches, awesome breads and breakfast and a ginger cake to die for, the one thing I truly love about KGC is the customers they attract. Very often the place is packed because of its tiny space and popularity, but you find that whenever they can, people will always offer to share a table with you. It is through this that we’ve met a number of interesting people at KGC. Part-cafe and part-gallery, there are often art exhibitions held in KGC. Truly a hipster cafe where you can while time away – alone, with friends or even strangers.
